American Heritage merit badge

Every Scout swears to an oath that includes duty to his country. A better understanding of American heritage, the ways in which the past has lead to our present nation, is key to truly knowing what it means to be an American.

PREREQUISITES (BEFORE CLASS)

Have each scout bring:

1. One example of American heritage they already know
   (historical event, monument, tradition, or symbol)

2. Be prepared to discuss a historic place in their state or region
