Emergency Preparedness Merit Badge

Scouts are often called upon to help because they know first aid and they know about the discipline and planning needed to react to an emergency situation. Earning this merit badge helps a Scout to be prepared by learning the actions that can be helpful and needed before, during, and after an emergency.

All Prerequisites must be completed before the class begins!

Preparation Requirements

Scouts must bring:

1. Family Emergency Plan

2. Personal Emergency Kit

3. Home Emergency Kit inventory

4. Documentation of participation in an emergency drill or response

5. Examples:

   • fire drill

   • severe weather drill

   • community disaster drill

   Without these items, the badge cannot be fully completed.
